Description In this work, we examined aspects of decision-making and perception of threat in AI-generated material, and how these are influenced by psychological factors, such as personality, trust, and digital literacy. We also examined the neurological correlates of these processes, using neuroimaging techniques, to understand how users perceive and understand these new threats, in complete alignment with the original objectives of the project.

Some of the results from this work have already been published in peer-reviewed journals, and received outstanding global attention, evidenced by over 250 mentions in the media, including the BBC, The Guardian, and The Times (tallied by our Communications team), and we presented our work at conferences and policy-related events. The above expenditure contributed directly to this outcome and would not have been possible without it.
