Description | High quality carbonate chemistry data have been collected for the Northwestern European shelf on cruise D366. Scientific articles have described and used the data. |
Exploitation Route | Scientific articles; Submission of data to British Oceanographic Data Centre; Inclusion of data in ocean carbon data synthesis products such as SOCAT (Surface Ocean CO2 Atlas; http://www.socat.info) and the successor of GLODAP2. Inclusion of data in studies of changes in ocean CO2 uptake and ocean acidification for Northwestern European shelf seas. |
Sectors | Environment |
Description | Marine carbonate chemistry data for the Northwestern European shelf have been described and used in several scientific publications and have been made available to the British Oceanographic Data Centre. In future the data will be incorporated into marine carbon data synthesis products such as SOCAT (Surface Ocean CO2 Atlas) and the GLODAP2 successor. Such synthesis products are powerful tools for quantification on changes in the ocean carbon sink and ocean acidification. |
