Net-Zero - Changes in established woodlands and their impact on achieving net-zero

Lead Research Organisation: Newcastle University
Department Name: Sch of Natural & Environmental Sciences

Abstract

Abstracts are not currently available in GtR for all funded research. This is normally because the abstract was not required at the time of proposal submission, but may be because it included sensitive information such as personal details.

Description Drone imagery data and ground-based laser scanner 3D information was collected across forest plots in Norfolk and Suffolk and used to create 3D forest models, maps of tree species and to extract information on forest height and structure. The data is being further utilised in on-going research to examine the potential to map tree health using imagery from satellites.
Exploitation Route Datasets collected within the project are being further utilised within a PhD research project, joint with Fera Science, on tree health monitoring.
