Abstract
This project is to build a distributed hub-and-spoke manufacturing network in experimental 3D-printers to enable rapid prototyping and product development in the fashion industry. We will test the feasibility, quality control and scalability of our distributed model, while designing a subscription-based pricing model. Underpinning this project is the vision to create a UK-wide circular manufacturing network that will reuse waste plastics. In this project we will develop a minimum of 3 sites: one in a fashion innovation hub, and two in a globally successful fashion company. This project is led by innovative product design and rapid prototyping company Batch.works.
