Develop an Automated Tow Tractor for Freight Logistics
Lead Participant:
FUSION PROCESSING LTD
Abstract
This project brings together a long establish UK manufacturing company, Bradshaw Electric Vehicles, with a newer UK tech company , Fusion Processing Ltd, in a collaboration that will develop a new logistics system for factories and airport locations. The project will demonstrate an autonomous tow tractor operating in a 'live' working environment to enable potential customers to experience the technology and see how it will benefit their operation.
The original intended demonstration of the system of 1-2 weeks operation will be extended to a longer 8-12 week trial, which also aims to demonstrate operating the vehicle with using a remote safety driver (i.e. no operator onboard). This is where the main commercial benefit can be realised.
