Famli - Improving Primary School Pupil Wellbeing

Lead Participant: FAMLI LTD

Abstract

The Famli app makes improving family wellbeing fun and simple, and its vision is to build a world in which most families wake up feeling healthy and happy.

Now more than ever, mental, physical, and nutritional wellbeing are crucial aspects of life that need to be nurtured and improved. Whilst there are over 350,000 health and fitness apps to help individuals, a significant lack of solutions and support is present to help families easily improve all aspects of their wellbeing. Famli offers an effective tool to improve family wellbeing through combining intergenerational activities and gamification features - maximising engagement, bringing families together to spend quality time exercising more, eating better and improving their mental health, all from one place.

Famli is here for the parents who are busy but want to spend more time with their family. For the children between 4-12 years old who can struggle to engage with healthy activities and get fed up with being told "just eat your vegetables". For the mums who feel intimidated by the judgement of a gym but want to feel healthier, for the dads who want more quality and healthy time with their children - Famli gives them a little help along the way to feel physically and mentally better.

**What is the change Famli is making?**

With the app, schools and their families have an effective, enjoyable and accessible tool, which contains a growing variety of over 200 health activities, helping families to exercise more, eat better, and take care of their mental health. This is paired with a portal to enable to teachers to stimulate and track pupil engagement and progress. By combining an extensive variety of simple and engaging activities with gamification, Famli supports schools in improving pupil wellbeing.

This project will seek to ensure that the Famli app fills the needs of teachers and schools that are trying to improve pupil wellbeing; a gap that currently exists where there is an ever-increasing focus. Through a mixed methods research project, Famli will seek to ensure that the digital tool that is built out for schools is one that relieves teachers and families of the significant challenge of trying to improve and maintain good health on their own, reducing unnecessary stress, and promoting quality family time.

Today, Famli is disrupting a health and fitness market focused on individuals.

Tomorrow, Famli seeks to globally support families from all backgrounds.
