FA8 - Ethical AI Development at Scale

The increase in the use of AI systems in our daily lives, brings calls for more ethical AI development from different sectors including, finance, healthcare, recruitment, supply chain, real estate, the judiciary and education. A number of AI ethics checklists and frameworks have been proposed focusing on different dimensions of ethical AI, such as fairness, explainability and safety. However, the abstract nature of these existing ethical AI guidelines often makes them difficult to operationalize in real-world contexts. The inadequacy of the existing situation with respect to ethical guidance is further complicated by the paucity of work to develop _transparent and ethical_ machine learning powered AI systems for real-world.

Fa8 (pronounced fate) is a project of Infini8AI to democratize ethical and robust AI deployments across different sectors around the globe. It is based on the PhD research of Muhammad Ali Chaudhry which developed a Transparency Index Framework for companies to make their AI deployments in real-world transparent for a diverse range of stakeholders. It has been further evidenced from AI researchers and practitioners with decades of experience in developing and deploying AI-powered products across various sectors.

The purpose of this project is to conduct a feasibility study and build a consortium of stakeholders for Fa8: A platform that enables ethical and transparent AI-powered products for different categories of internal and external stakeholders, who might be directly or indirectly impacted by them.

Fa8 platform will provide companies instant feedback on the AI development pipelines of their products, across eight different dimensions of ethical AI including fairness, accountability, transparency, explainability, safety, interpretability, privacy and security.
