Abstract
'Navigate Digital Learning' is a digital programme which explores a diverse range of job roles and routes into the creative industries. Made and developed by The Paper Birds Theatre Company, 'Navigate' provides an honest, interesting and insightful look into careers within the arts, through a behind the scenes documentary and series of interviews and digital workshops, aimed at 13-18 year olds.
The arts and culture industry has grown £390 million in a year and now contributes £10.8 billion annually to the UK economy. The sector contributes £2.8 billion a year to the Treasury via taxation, and generates a further £23 billion a year and 363,700 jobs.
Alongside a team of young, diverse, exceptional artists who have recently started their own careers in the field, The Paper Birds discuss this booming creative industry and through interviews and practical exercises 'Navigate' explores the opportunities available with particular focus on the performing arts.
