Famli - Capturing the wellbeing improvement data of children and families
Lead Participant:
FAMLI LTD
Abstract
Famli is on a mission to improve the health and wellbeing of families with young children in the UK, in a fun, engaging and inclusive way, in the UK. The project addresses the pressing issues facing UK communities, with alarming statistics showing that 1 in 3 pupils leave primary school obese, 1 in 5 suffer from diagnosable mental health disorders, and 1 in 2 experience deficiencies in essential vitamins.
To address these challenges, through this project Famli is building the foundations for a platform that places people at the heart of the solution to improve the physical and mental wellbeing of families with young children, while appropriately capturing and measuring the wellbeing improvement data of families, empowering parents, children, and schools while facilitating commercialisation through Integrated Care Boards (ICBs).
Famli believes that successful solutions must cater to the diverse needs of these stakeholders, which is why they are dedicated to people-centred and system-aware design principles. By bringing together parents, children, schools, and ICBs, Famli aims to generate, test, and improve ideas collaboratively, ensuring that the Famli platform is truly beneficial and accessible for all.
In partnership with Sunderland Software City, renowned for their expertise in human-centered design, Famli will explore opportunities and perspectives from all stakeholders. Utilising socio-technical design systems, they seek to understand the experiences, motivations, and behaviour of each stakeholder group involved. This approach helps Famli clearly address valuable problems and demonstrate how they plan to solve them through this project.
Famli's data-driven approach ensures that their solutions are evidence-based and directly address the needs of the target population. They understand that each stakeholders needs and circumstances are unique, so the platform will be tailored to them to making it more desirable, equitable, and beneficial.
The primary market for this project is the UK Primary Education sector, comprising over 20,000 primary schools, including 2,500 private independent schools. Of these schools, 40.4% are academies, making up 42.1% of the primary school population. Famli will focus on nine councils that have already established partnerships, offering potential access to 1,112 schools.
Famli is committed to diversity and inclusivity, ensuring that their project team engages with stakeholders from different backgrounds and demographics. This ensures that the platform is designed to be truly inclusive and relevant to the diverse communities it serves.
