Comparison Framework - Legal Services

Lead Participant: LEGAL UTOPIA LIMITED

Abstract

Legal Utopia has built its position in the UK market to assist the public in finding and selecting regulated lawyers, whilst also pioneering in the legal diagnostics field to help people identify and understand the legal nature and solutions to their issue or dispute.

Regulated lawyers remain the best route to resolving legal business and life events that impact on our quality of life, fundamental rights, and opportunity. However, as the regulated market has grown and service provision continued to fluctuate, establishing a digital comparison framework to align legal and customer need with service relevance and availability has proven absent but necessary to improve access to this market.

This project will seek to investigate, research, and create a new comparison framework that will support the public in searching for a lawyer from the regulated market factoring both service relevance and availability to legal need, complexity, and customer circumstances. It will test and consider the role of machine learning and neural networks in the formation of legal services quality indicators in combination with legal diagnostic and digital shopping data that has been collected through Legal Utopia services to-date.

The project's objective will be to apply this new comparison framework to improve booking conversions and access to legal services from the regulated market.
