Abstract
**Unlocking Accessibility -- Deployment** builds on the success of Innovate UK funded Phase 1 feasibility project **(10004949)** which saw the development of an innovative, user-centric public EV chargepoint to TRL3 in March 2022\. Featuring ground-breaking, automated cable-management to significantly reduce the effort to connect a car to a charger. This technology enables the 1 in 5 UK adults with a disability as well as those with poor strength/dexterity, the freedom to independently charge their vehicles and benefit from the transition to EVs.
Our target market is public & commercial chargepoints for Local Authorities & Businesses to serve the 1.2m disabled (ONS) and 5.6m older people registered to drive who may not be able to use existing chargepoints.
With target customers engaged and full freedom to operate with a family of robust IP filings to protect our unique design, this project will capitalise on the significant R&D investment so far, delivering meaningful technology to benefit society and generate UK jobs.
The project will address the following commercialisation areas;
* Commercialisation plan development & implementation.
* Financing strategy development.
* Revenue model analysis & development.
* Sales strategy development.
* Marketing plan development.
* Carbon plan development.
* Customer validation & testing.
* Intellectual property development & protection.
* Standards compliance and validation.
* Regulatory support & insights
* Operational costs of pilot.
With expansion into foreign markets being explored and a team expanding to include a dedicated commercialisation manager via KTP, this project has the opportunity to rapidly commercialise on a global basis, exploiting the projected boom in EV chargepoint installations and helping establish a UK company at the forefront of inclusive technology.
