Mobility Fusion: Harnessing Data to Make Sustainable Mobility Networks
Lead Participant:
URBANTIDE LIMITED
Abstract
This project will address and resolve the challenges in sharing and exchanging mode-specific road data. It will concentrate on critical kerbside usage (active travel, buses, parking), which has historically been segregated into purpose-specific silos. Our goal is to enable data sharing and refine this data into easily accessible and actionable formats, thus breaking down a major barrier in data utilisation.
Data sharing barriers are identified by multiple ket stakeholders including the Department for Transport (DfT) Smart Manual for Streets and the Connected Places Catapult estimated that not making transport data open and available could cost the UK £15bn by 2025\. This opens a significant market opportunity to facilitate data sharing, allowing the development of effective mobility solutions, and empowering organisations to utilise transport data more efficiently to deliver data-driven investment decisions.
The project will bring together UrbanTide and Appyway with trusted public sector partners to address key net zero mobility issues in Edinburgh and the Edinburgh region with a view to scale across the UK and internationally. This project will significantly enhance the consortium's intellectual property and solutions evolving UrbanTide's uMove platform and Appyway's current TRO data systems.
