ZEROe Development Centre Capital and Infrastructure Phase 2

Abstract
Airbus's ambition is to develop the world's first hydrogen-powered commercial aircraft by 2035\. The ZEROe programme explores a variety of configurations and technology options that will shape the development of our future hydrogen aircraft.
The Filton ZEROe Development Centre (ZeDC), with strong links into the ATI Hydrogen Capability Network (HCN) Test Cluster, is an innovative infrastructure development providing a test facility with capability for research, testing, validation and certification including:
* Integrated Liquid Hydrogen (LH2) Fuel Systems
* Cryogenic Structural Testing
* Industrial Proof of Concept
* Sustainable Aviation Fuel for all aircraft types.
The ZeDC will enable Airbus in the UK to deliver the knowledge and capabilities required for preparing the ZEROe programme demonstrators, to define and test a fuel system architecture and enable Airbus's supply chain in the UK and beyond to deliver the systems and structural components necessary to deliver Airbus's low carbon ambitions for next generation commercial aerospace.
It will also provide a strategic piece of UK infrastructure, accessible by wider UK industry to test their own components and systems, whether they contribute to Airbus products or not. Building on the existing ZeDC Phase 1 Small Scale Learning Platform this 'Capital Infrastructure' project will spec, design, deliver and commission the infrastructure components of ZeDC Phase Two - the combined development of a Liquid Hydrogen Fuel Sub-System and Component Test Facility and supporting Structural Test capability and will enable research in topics such as cryogenic storage and conditioning and gauging.
