Healthy Resilient Cities: Building a Business Case for Adaptation

Abstract

This study enables the development of a service model that allows multiple health service agencies across city regions to robustly identify and quantify their risk to extreme weather so that they can invest appropriate resources in reducing their exposure, to increase their resilience, quality of life and economic sustainability. Our end user research partners are the University Hospitals Bristol NHS Foundation Trust and Bristol City Council. The model will include multi-agency systems analysis, integrated data mapping and enquiry, economic valuation, and interactive stakeholder dialogue techniques exploring risk and responsibility.
