Abstract

The student is using data collected from Run-II of the CERN Large Hadron Collider with the ATLAS experiment to carry out searches for additional Higgs bosons. The decay channels being used for the search are those where the Higgs boson has decayed into two oppositely-charged tau leptons. The hardware component of this student's thesis will focus on R&D and construction of silicon strip detector modules for an upgrade of the ATLAS charged-particle tracking detector (for the Phase-II upgrade of the ATLAS detector).
