Identifying cyclic peptide inhibitors of the Myc/Max protein-protein interaction

Lead Research Organisation: University of Southampton
Department Name: Sch of Chemistry

Abstract

We are going to use a newly developed, microfluidic-based platform to generate and screen libraries of over a hundred million cyclic peptides against the Myc/Max protein-protein interaction. This protein-protein interaction has been heavily implicated in the cancer, however, there are currently no therapeutics that target myc/max. we will use this challenging target to assess the limits of our screening platform. Once a cyclic peptide that inhibits this protein-protein interaction has been identified, we will use a medicinal chemistry approach to improve its potency.
