Pixel detector modules for the ATLAS ITk pixel system

Abstract
The investigation of the nature of the recently discovered Higgs boson and the search for Physics Beyond the Standard Model with the LHC will demand more data. To achieve this goal, the LHC will be upgraded and the luminosity will be increased requiring the insertion of a new tracker in the ATLAS experiment. This thesis focuses on the characterization, performance measurement, and production quality assurance of the ITk pixel modules. This includes a full characterization of the sensors and of the assembled modules.
