Abstract

Investigation into the properties of elementary particles and the fundamental forces of nature. Precision tests of the Standard Model (SM); searches for new phenomena and extensions to the SM; studies of CP violation in the b-system; measurement of neutrino oscillation parameters; WIMP dark matter searches, preparations for future experiments, including HL-LHC, feasibility studies for future neutrino factories, double-beta decay experiments, gravitational wave detectors and linear colliders.

Description End-to-end deep neural network vertex reconstruction and association algorithm development for the Phase-II Level-1 Trigger Upgrade in the CMS detector

PI Contribution Collaborative research with Imperial College London high energy physics researchers towards the Phase-II Level-1 Trigger Upgrade in the CMS detector. I developed and trained a number of machine learning algorithms and compared their relative performance for track-to-vertex association that would be integrated into the end-to-end neural network framework.
Collaborator Contribution Collaborative research with Imperial College London high energy physics researchers towards the Phase-II Level-1 Trigger Upgrade in the CMS detector. My colleagues developed a deep neural network-based vertex reconstruction algorithm for high-luminosity pile-up rejection purposes in the Phase-II Level-1 Trigger Upgrade of the CMS detector.
Impact I received EPR credits within the CMS collaboration to become an author. No paper or technical report has been published, yet, it is still ongoing work. The work is mentioned in Section 3.4 of the newly published "ThMS Level-1 Trigger Technical Design report (Report number: CERN-LHCC-2020-004, CMS-TDR-021).

Description Searching for long-lived heavy neutral leptons in hadronic decays with the CMS detector using a novel deep neural network-based displaced jet tagger
