Digital Health Technologies to Provide Support for Stress at Work

Abstract

The advancing capacity and proliferation of digital apps, wearables, online platforms and tools have huge potential as vehicles for harnessing personal motivation and driving beneficial behaviour change. The policy agenda of self-care is increasingly relying on digital health interventions (DHIs) facilitating early intervention and prevention amongst the general public. Senior leaders in comprehensive schools experience very high levels of stress but receive little formal training in stress management and rarely can access psychological support. Whilst information on quality and safety is emerging, qualitative data on experience, relevance and alignment of DHIs that could offer support in the wild is lacking. This project would focus on the context of the highly pressured school environment and investigate current successful stress management strategies, review existing personal digital health technologies that could support these approaches, and evaluate the technology in the wild
