Environmental Law

My research, in conjunction with the Faraday Institute, will concentrate on the legal framework of recycling of Lithium-ion batteries. As you will be aware, failure to adequately manage this waste stream creates a risk of the release of hazardous substances to the environment. Therefore, the focus of my research will be to assess current legal frameworks, and best practice industry standards of recycling lithium-Ion Batteries across the world. The findings of such research will be fed into the future design of governance systems to enhance the use of recycled material components of waste electric car batteries.
