Title Next generation De Novo Whole Genome sequencing
Description The utility of Whole genome sequencing was explored to support clinical and public health responses to HCV.
Type Of Material Technology assay or reagent
Year Produced 2015
Provided To Others? No
Impact The use of WGS in genotyping and identifying transmission of HCV was assessed. Approaches for clinical and research study of HCV were mainly based on different sections of the HCV genome, but not on the entirety of the genetic material of a HCV infection. Using WGS, might provide an opportunity to enrich our understanding of HCV and achieve improved care for patients.

Title Computational methods to analyse whole genomes of HCV
Description Different pieces of software were used to analyse HCV samples and obtain whole genomes. Downstream analyses involved the development of scripts using Bash and R languages.
Type Of Material Computer model/algorithm
Year Produced 2019
Provided To Others? No
Impact Computational approaches were developed to study the quality of whole genomes and indicate how reliable this method is to study HCV both at a clinical and research level. Phylogenetics using whole genomes of HCV.

Description International Conference for Computational Biology (RECOMB)
Form Of Engagement Activity A talk or presentation
Part Of Official Scheme? No
Geographic Reach International
Primary Audience Professional Practitioners
Results and Impact Poster presentation based on whole genome assembly of viral samples. This triggered conversations about the impact of different sequencing techniques to clinical decision making.
Year(s) Of Engagement Activity 2019
