Bilingual language development in individuals with Rett syndrome

The project aims to examine the effect of bilingualism on the language of individuals with Rett Syndrome. We will test language in individuals with Rest syndrome exposed to two languages, as well as individuals exposed to one language. A battery of tests will be developed/adapted and administered to examine language abilities. The project aims to contribute to our understanding of language development in this population and to produce guidance for healthcare professionals and parents of individuals with Rett Syndrome to help them to make an informed decision about the linguistic input an individual with Rett Syndrome should receive in childhood and beyond.
