Investigating the Functional Role of Hydroxymethylation in the Pathogenesis of B-cell Malignancies

Lead Research Organisation: University of Southampton
Department Name: Cancer Sciences

Abstract

The student will develop key skills in immunophenotyping and cell sorting, particularly focusing on immune cells from number of organs (e.g. peripheral blood, spleen, tonsils), sequencing libraries generation for 5hmC analysis, chemical-based pull-down technologies (HMCP), high-throughput sequencing using a variety of Illumina instruments and computational biology approaches for the quantification of genome-wide 5hmC levels and the integration of these data with other regulatory and transcriptional information.
