A Gramscian Analysis of Global Health Law to Ensure Justice in Responding to Antimicrobial Resistance

Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is one of the most profound problems the world faces today that requires a just global response. Global health law can play a significant role in resolving this crisis, though the academic and grey AMR literature has largely neglected to consider their capitalistic preanalytical assumptions that inevitably impact upon the achievement of global health justice. I propose to examine the ways and extent to which global health law can pursue or hinder justice in AMR. To do so, I will develop a Gramscian lens through which to theorise and analyse (theoretical and practical) examples of legal responses to AMR, which has the prospect to provide insights for academia and practice to build upon.
