Use and acceptability of mind-body approaches among SV/DV survivors and professionals

Lead Research Organisation: University of Bristol
Department Name: Sch for Policy Studies

Abstract

Research shows increased encouraging findings about the efficacy of MB approaches for traumatised population, but there are not any studies exploring the use and acceptability of those
specifically for women with interpersonal trauma from survivors' and professionals' perspective. To define acceptability, we are based on the theoretical framework of Sekhon et al (2017)- based on anticipated or experienced cognitive and emotional responses to the intervention. This research aims to shed light into the views and experiences of female trauma survivors with MB approaches, in order to explore alternative ways of healing trauma.
