Design of degradable nanoparticles by reverse sequence polymerisation-induced self-assembly
Lead Research Organisation:
University of Sheffield
Department Name: Chemistry
Abstract
This project involves polymerisation-induced self-assembly (PISA) and will be conducted under the supervision of Prof. Steve Armes FRS within the Chemistry Department. The aim is the design, synthesis and characterisation of new (bio)degradable block copolymer nanoparticles via PISA. Analytical techniques include 1 H NMR spectroscopy, gel permeation chromatography, dynamic light scattering, transmission electron microscopy, small-angle X-ray scattering and oscillatory rheology. This four-year EPSRC project starting in October 2021, is part-sponsored by Ashland, a US-based speciality chemicals company.
