Better understanding the Welsh productivity puzzle

The project aims to identify, analyse, and assess the productivity gaps between Wales and the United Kingdom, using a range of qualitative and quantitative empirical methods to understand the problems with Welsh productivity. The project aims to produce models and data, including novel methods and assumptions, which can improve the current methodology for the analysis and valuation of capital stock, including better understanding the digital economy and the incorporation of digital capital. Through a better understanding of the evolution of regional capital stock and the productivity gaps, the project can also generate ways improvements can be made in the formulation of productivity statistics to gauge a better understanding of the Welsh productivity 'puzzle'.
