Exploring gamma delta T cell immunosurveillance in ovarian cancer

Abstract
In this project the student will investigate the role and determinants of human gamma delta
T cells in ovarian cancer. The project seeks to enhance our understanding of the role
of T cells in ovarian cancer and their potential impact on tumor progression and the
wider immune response. The student will focus on several key objectives. Firstly, they will characterise the infiltration and distribution of T cells within the tumor microenvironment
using state-of-the-art immunological techniques, including high dimensional flow cytometry
and single cell transcriptomics in the Davey Lab. Secondly, they will investigate the identity
of potential antigens or stress-induced molecules recognized by T cells in ovarian
cancer through T cell receptor repertoire sequencing and antigen screening approaches in
collaboration with our industry partner, Immunocore Ltd. By unravelling the determinants
and landscape of T cells in ovarian cancer, this research aims to provide insights to
inform the development of immunotherapeutic strategies to harness T cells anti-tumor
capabilities
