Enhancing the accuracy and efficiency of cytology with artificial intelligence powered analysis

Cytosystems Ltd in conjunction with Pathognomics and Visio-Pharm are developing a laboratory based test called BladderLight. The BladderLight test assesses whether a urine sample taken from patients attending for initial diagnosis or for monitoring for recurrence of bladder cancer is indicative of patients having bladder cancer / urothelial carcinoma or not. The test uses specific biomarkers and fluorophores to stain cells fixed on a microscope slide which are subsequently scanned to create a digital image of the cells. Image analysis software assesses the image and provides a qualitative output for the presence or absence of bladder cancer.
