Abstract
The 'Data/Culture. Building Sustainable Communities around Arts and Humanities datasets and software' project addresses several of the key issues identified in the draft of the AHRC's 'A Data and Digital Strategy for the Arts and Humanities (2025-2029)'. The key contributions of 'Data/Culture' are 1) ensuring that existing digital datasets and software have enhanced visibility, are more findable, and can be more easily situated within the context of other adjacent digital datasets and software through the creation of a sophisticated portal which links to a wealth of existing datasets and tools, 2) a step change in the volume of engagement by arts and humanities scholars with these datasets and tools through targeted match-making events and skills training, and 3) a continuous mapping of the requirements and expectations of arts and humanities scholars, data holders, and funders through stakeholder management. This offering both engages with existing projects within iDAH and focuses on specific challenges and needs within the wider Arts and Humanities landscape.
