Abstract
Abstracts are not currently available in GtR for all funded research. This is normally because the abstract was not required at the time of proposal submission, but may be because it included sensitive information such as personal details.

Description | We have developed a new collaborative proposal for funding and are in the process of co-authoring another review about the importance of rancid fats, that are produced from dietary fats by metabolism in normal body processes, for lipid oxidation in obesity |
Exploitation Route | We anticipate that there will be a better understanding of approaches to manage obesity. This project has been transferred to the University of Surrey and the full outcomes were realised in the second part of the project |
Sectors | Healthcare,Pharmaceuticals and Medical Biotechnology |
Description | This project has been transferred to the University of Surrey and the full outcomes were realised in the second part of the project. non-academic impacts on the SME community were achieved through the InClusilver network. |

PI Contribution | We will be undertaking mitochondrial lipid analysis in obesity models at the University of Surrey to understand any relationship between lipid composition and function. |
Collaborator Contribution | Our partners will be providing the adipose tissue and undertaking mitochondrial function analysis. |

Results and Impact | This presentation request followed on from the Inclusilver symposium in Aarhus on "New knowledge and emerging opportunities for improving elderly nutrition". I was invited to give a lecture for a dedicated group of Health Care Professionals working within the area of disease related malnutrition (primarily dietitians and nurses). the original plan was for an in person symposium but this was instead delivered over zoom. This sparked questions and discussion after and the organisers ran the session again. |
