Description This pathfinder led to a small collaborative project with the UK algal biotech company Algenuity to explore whether algae can be used to produce human milk fat substitute (HMFS)for infant formula. Subsequently it has also led to further work to produce HMFS in oilseed rape and oleaginous yeast, filing of a patent application and to confidential discussions and material exchange with several large agri-biotech and food companies.
