Description This grant funded market research to understand the potential market for commercial data analysis software for omics. We interviewed >10 different labs and commecial entities who would be potential users of the software, to gain an understanding of where current deficiencies were in existing software. The interviews formed part of a market profile report and a business plan. The business plan was used to support a BBSRC Follow On application to raise funding to develop a commercial package for mult-omics data analysis. Unfortunately, our initial attempts to raise funding were not successful and so we are currently considering our options for developing the software through an open source route.
Exploitation Route The direct outcomes cannot because they are confidential to the team, but we hope the software package will be developed off the back of this will be widely used.

Description Working with a market consultant, we have extensively profiled the international market for omics data analysis software, and written a business plan. The business plan should help to secure further funding to develop a commercial package.
