Description A market analysis was performed on the use of a novel biotechnological technology in fuel cells. The key outcome was that the technology is not limited by cost of production (after upscaling), but that for commercial exploitation the power output of the fuel cells needs to improve 2 to 3 order of magnitude compared to current published values. A pilot study is required to show proof-of-principle that such improved power output is possible.
Exploitation Route Based on the market analysis, steps are undertaken to see if a pilot study can be performed to show that power output can be improved.
