Abstract

Abstracts are not currently available in GtR for all funded research. This is normally because the abstract was not required at the time of proposal submission, but may be because it included sensitive information such as personal details.

Description We performed a UK-wide survey of dairy farmers and veterinarians to reveal current practices and preferences in the diagnosis of pregnancy, mastitis and metabolic diseases in dairy farms. The survey identified a desire by farmers for a test that can diagnose pregnancy early (before 21 days after insemination) in cows, as well as end-user preferences for how such test should work
Exploitation Route The results may be used to inform the development of novel diagnostic assays to increase dairy cow reproductive efficiency and milk productivity
