Description This project conducted an initial market assessment and IP analysis to help determine the commercial opportunity surrounding a low-temperature microbial expression platform currently under development. In particular, this assessment sought to determine the best strategy for protecting intellectual the team's intellectual property and the market need for low-temperature expression system in applications other than detergents. The expression system has potential use for expressing cold-active enzymes but also more widely for difficult to express proteins that would benefit from the slower folding and greater solubility associated with lower temperatures.
Exploitation Route It is being currently being used to inform a small team of the commercial opportunities surrounding a new microbial manufacturing platform.
