Title | Velocity and species imaging data for Cambridge Oxycoal Swirl Burner (CCB) |
Description | This document describes the database of experiments performed using coal and methane combustion in the Cambridge Coal Burner (CCB). Both cases have the same outer geometry, but series CCB2 is outfitted with a central bluff body to enhance flame stabilization and coal burnout.Cases with reacting flows are denoted RF, and non-reacting flow, by NRF. The burner consists of a tube carrying the mixture of coal, methane, oxidizer and diluent (conditions listed below), surrounded by a swirling pilot of methane gas. Measurements were made with: PIV, LDA, Mie scatter and OH PLIF. See original publications for details of the methodology. -- Cite as: Balusamy, S., Schmidt, A. and Hochgreb, S.
