Description We have discovered that the species residing in the schafarzikite channel structure are mixed and non-uniform in placement. The degree of mixing and uniformity can be tuned by changing the nominal composition of the ionic species involved. This has great implications concerning the applicability of these materials for use as battery electrodes or substrates.
Exploitation Route Industrial partners such as Johnson Matthey are keen to explore the applicability of these systems to battery material technology.
