EPSRC Capital Core Equipment Award 2020

Lead Research Organisation: University of Strathclyde
Department Name: Electronic and Electrical Engineering

Abstract

As a leading technological University, equipment underpins our research and teaching environment. Our institutional strategy maximises research output and impact from capital investment by promoting a culture of resource sharing internally and externally with other universities and industry to enhance research quality, opportunity and impact across all academic levels whilst ensuring equality, diversity and inclusion.

The proposed core equipment will be used to facilitate and strengthen a wide range of EPS research and training activities at the University of Strathclyde, which falls within EPSRC's strategic remit and is aligned to our strategic themes of Energy; Advanced Manufacturing & Materials; Health & Wellbeing; Ocean, Air & Space; Measurement Science & Enabling Technologies; Innovation & Entrepreneurship; and, Society & Policy. Collectively, the core equipment will add to the research of many independent academic groups from across the Faculties of Science and Engineering respectively including key departments (Architecture, Strathclyde Institute of Pharmacy & Biomedical Sciences (SIPBS), Pure and Applied Chemistry (PAC), Biomedical Engineering, Civil and Environmental Engineering, Electronic and Electrical Engineering and Physics) across fields and at all career grades from doctoral training candidates to esteemed professors. Equipment will also be listed on Equipment.data, a national equipment sharing portal.
