Description The key findings; of this award are represented in the portfolio of ESRC census services which were achieved through the programme coordination. These contributed on the specification and subsequent publication of specialist datasets from the 2011 UK censuses in the form of aggregate outputs, digital boundary data, samples of anonymised records, interaction datasets and census longitudinal studies.
Exploitation Route There will not be further findings and outputs directly attributable to this award, as there has now been a continuation award (census programme coordination 2011-12) and most of the programme has became part of ESRC's new UK Data Service from 2012, with the Longitudinal Study support activities being separately funded. All parts of this work were taken forward under under ESRC data infrastructure funding. Further major developments in census data infrastructure will be reported under those awards.

Description The key impacts of this award have been through contributions to the design of the 2011 censuses in the UK, particularly through contributions to the design of the output products and census services that were the subject of consultation and development at the time of the award. The award ensured the delivery of data infrastructure to higher education and research and collaborations with other sectors, particularly local government and commercial organizations who are also major users of census data.
