| Description | Older adults are happy to collect daily information on what they are eating and drinking, their mood, cognitive function and physical activity. These could be used for detecting the earliest signs of change in people's daily behaviour. |
| Exploitation Route | The project showed that reliable data can be collected in people's homes and that this has the potential to detect early signs of malnutrition and of other conditions such as psychological or emotional problems. The information can be fed back to the older people themselves, so that they can monitor their own progress, or to their GP or a family member. NANA demonstrates how new technology can be used for ongoing assessment and monitoring; over time, it will provide information to enable the emergence of health conditions to be monitored. |

| Description | In 2017 we are working with a health and social care provider to develop NANA for use with three of their community services: active ageing, weight management and learning disabilities. We are also developing a pilot study with the Sheffield Reablement team. In 2017 we secured additional funding to further develop NANA into DataDay, a self-management tool for people who are diagnosed with dementia or Mild Cognitive Impairment. We worked with people living with dementia or MCI to develop the DataDay user interface. We also worked with memory assessment services staff to develop a clinician portal for reviewing their client's progress. The first wave of feasibility testing in the community took place between November 2018 and May 2019 after which revisions were made to the app and portal. A second wave of testing commenced March 2020. |
