Results and Impact Univerisity of Birmingham exhibited in the Royal Society Summer Exhibition (wastes into energy) featuring a display from the Schools of Biosciences and Engineering showing the public how work is integrated across the life sciences and engineering disciplines. The focus was on reducing environmental waste burdens and forestalling climate change. This work was also showcased by the BBSRC and EPSRC at the British Association meeting in September 2007 in York, and highlighted by the EPSRC in their publication "connecting with business".

The work featured on BBC radio 4 live "the material world" and in several other radio broadcasts.
