Description Study of testis development in iNOS knockout mice
Organisation Federal University of Minas Gerais
Department Department of Morphology
Country Brazil
Sector Academic/University
PI Contribution iNOS knockout male mice develop larger testes and exhibit a gain of Leydig cell function in adulthood, changes that have a direct bearing on our current research. We are therefore using these mice to explore the mechanisms for gain of function, as this may have clinical usefulness, and will identify important testis development processes that are likely to be vulnerable to disruption and thus result in impaired testis function/infertility
Collaborator Contribution Our partners provide the animal tissues and undertake many of the basic reproductive analyses, leaving the detailed mechanistic studies to us
Impact So far this collaboration has resulted in two peer-reviewed publications (Auharke et al 2011, 2012)
