Abstract

Abstracts are not currently available in GtR for all funded research. This is normally because the abstract was not required at the time of proposal submission, but may be because it included sensitive information such as personal details.

Technical Summary

The award is in support of a fourth Imaging Centre to complement the three centres already in existence and is designed to accelerate the imaging of the 100,000 UK Biobank participants. Including the repeat imaging of 10,000 participants funded by Dementias Platform UK. Along with the existing centres, the Bristol imaging centre will further provide data to help identify the earliest (pre-clinical) manifestations of dementia, supporting the development and testing of dementia interventions. The standard suite of brain and body measures (using the same protocols), as used for the 100,000 imaging project, will be used for the repeat imaging of 10,000 participants.
