Description This will be given by project PI, Dr Len Shaffrey
Exploitation Route The key findings of our project relate to the simulation of weather regimes and the importance of resolution and/or stochastic representations of small-scale processes. Our findings will be relevant to those studying regional climate change, seasonal or decadal forecasting.

Description Our research findings have been used to provide evidence of the need for a) developing high resolution models of the atmosphere for studies of climate change but b) that the very high wavenumber parts of the model can be represented by stochastic terms. This motivates the use of concepts in inexact computing for next generation weather and climate models.
