Description The report identified the different barriers to engagement amongst three BME communities in Kingston, Muslim, Korean and Tamil.
It also explored in detail issues faced by young Muslims in Britain in the wake of the heightened concern with radicalisation and terrorism, and the way the latter lead to disengagement and alienation.
Exploitation Route Although research has been done in this area, barriers to engaging BME communities continues to be a complex issue. Our research in Kingston provides detailed empirical and ethnographic case-study data, that can form the basis of wider comparative analysis

Description Our findings were submitted in a report to the Metropolitan Police in Kingston who disseminated the report to other stakeholders (the Safer Kingston Partnership and partners at the Royal Borough of Kingston). The report informed working policies and training. On the basis of the findings we also organised a series of community workshops (attended by police officers, community workers and residents) and training sessions for Kingston policer officers.,
