Description Many organisations collect significant amounts of data and are increasingly interested in using this to generate insights. However, where data is not systematically collected or where recording practices are poor, this limits the potential to exploit it. The research has demonstrated the need for publicly funded bodies to attend carefully to their data collecting practices
Exploitation Route The growing interest in exploiting administrative data would be interested in some of the challenges encountered in this project.

Description The work demonstrated the difficulties of exploiting administrative data held by organisations to generate practical insights when the quality of the data is not good, with lots of missing fields and inconsistencies in recording practices.
