Cambridge Experiment and Theory Capital Equipment Bid 2016

The equipment provided in this Capital Bid will significantly enhance the instrumentation and computing capabilities of the University of Cambridge High Energy Physics group for current research at the Large Hadron Collider and future projects.

The proposed equipment will have direct impact of the capability of the University of Cambridge High Energy Physics group to deliver their committments to the ATLAS and LHCb upgrades at minimal risk, thereby leading to improved quality of data and potential for new scientific discoveries. Some items of equipment (the Silicon Sensor Camera and VNA analyser) will be shared equipment with other ATLAS institutes and other departments in Cambridge, and hence will have direct impact on their research quality.
