Department Name: Electronic Engineering and Physics

Abstract

Abstracts are not currently available in GtR for all funded research. This is normally because the abstract was not required at the time of proposal submission, but may be because it included sensitive information such as personal details.

Description We have developed laser systems that allow the measurement of ultrashort electron bunches in particle accelerators.
Exploitation Route Our findings may be taken forward by photonics and laser manufacturers, and by laboratories interested in the applications of accelerators for medical and biomedical activities.
Sectors Aerospace, Defence and Marine,Digital/Communication/Information Technologies (including Software),Electronics,Manufacturing, including Industrial Biotechology,Security and Diplomacy

Description Our findings have been used to further develop methods of characterising ultrashort (femtosecond) electron bunches in high-energy particle accelerators.
