Description This grant was for one year's funding for a technician to support work towards the development of an upgraded tracking detector for the ATLAS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider.

In this period we developed techniques for placing and affixing chips to the support structures, providing thermal as well as mechanical connections.
Exploitation Route They have contributed to the international design of the tracking detector upgrade for the ATLAS experiment, which will be essential to meet the physics goals of the Large Hadron Collider programme.
